SCAMPI

My Scampi is now 22 years old.

That, according to The Two Legs, is a good age for a cat.

As I am only 2 years old....or thereabouts...I will concur with The Two Legs....

Scampi is my oldest and wisest advisor. Scampi knows.

SCAMPI KNOWS.

He is not long for our world...not long for MY world. Scampi is very oldimuss. Few cats make it to 22.
Scampi has.

Scampi is my friend. Scampi is my reason. Without Scampi I am not the Maximus I am whilst Scampi is here.

I is frightenedimuss.....MY Scampi is leaving me.

Day by day he is leaving me!!!!

I will never forget you Scampi.

You will live on in my heart.

You will live on in my Two Legs hearts.

2011 is the year I will lose my Scampi........

I knows this.

Nite nite my Scampi....

Nite nite.....

  1. 22 is an amazing age for a kitty! Our mom wishes her beloved Annie and Chumley had lived to even half that age.

We're sending purrs to Scampi that when it's his time, he has a peaceful, gentle crossing. And we're sending purrs to you and your beans, too, because loss is so difficult to bear, even if a life has been long and well-lived.

    Peace and Blessings,

-Nicki, Derry and mom Kim at Fuzzy Tales

  2. Oh, Maximus, I am so very sorry you are losing your furend. You are very lucky to have known him and your two-legger is OH so lucky to have had Scampi for such a super long time. But mom says that no matter how long it is, it's never, ever long enough.

I am sending your whole family lots of soft woofs and luving thoughts.

    Gentle wiggles and wags,
    Mayzie

  5. Scampi just wants to cross the rainbow bridge and be as much a young kitty as you, so he can chase birds and butterflys and sleep in the sun and not feel cold and have pains. You will all meet up again someday

  8. Oh Maximus, I am so sorry. I wish my darling Zozo, Sally and Baci had made it to 22, as that is a fine, great age for a cat. Your Two Legs must take very amazing care of you guys. But it does not get any easier. Elizabeth and I send you big hugs and purrs and lots of support. It's so hard to lose a friend. Love, Curator

We are so very sorry to hear that Scami is leaving you day by day.
It broke our hearts and made Momma's eye leak.
Treasure each moment, and when the wise Scami jumps to the Bridge know that in the shadows she will always come to you.
    We send our soft purrs
    Abby

  10. Maximus we are sorry that Scampi is leaving you day by day, but until he is totally gone be sure to spend as much time with him as you can. That way you can have good memories of him that will always be with you in your heart. And tell Two Legs to do the same thing - enjoy being with him while you can!

  13. We understand what you're saying. It's hard to think of such things but saying good-bye is part of love. It just hurts to do it.

  14. Dood...Scampi has taught you well and you will always be the MAXIMUS. It's his gift, what he did to and for you. It'll be hard without him, but man, he got 22 years! that's freaking amazing!

  15. Our Jonathan lived to be in his 20's and he was the wisest and most wonderful cat. When I came to live here as a weensy kitten he taught me everything he knew even though he was fading away day by day until, as my mom says, his candle just burned all the way down.

It's painful to watch our loved ones fade away, but I know he still watches over me and one day we'll be reunited again.

Purrs to you. Scampi is an amazing cat.

  16. Maximus, you spend as much time as you can with dear Scampi, he needs you to be around him as he says his goodbyes. He's had a very long life for a cat and we know that makes it very hard to think about him leaving. You will be ok. Scampi will love you forever little Maximus, 'cos that's the rules.
